A Prom & Graduation Season to Remember - Class of'26

A Season Worth Celebrating

This year's prom and graduation season was one for the record books.

If you've followed my photography journey for any amount of time, you know that prom photography has never been a huge part of my business. I've photographed my share of proms over the years, but it was never a season I actively chased. This year, however, was different.

This year, all of my babies were seniors.

Including my own.

As a parent, there are moments you know are coming, but somehow they still arrive faster than expected. The first day of kindergarten feels like yesterday, yet here we are talking about graduation gowns, college plans, senior events, and those final milestones before adulthood officially begins.

And because so many of the young people in my circle were seniors this year, my camera stayed busy.

What started as a few sessions quickly turned into a season full of prom portraits, family photos, graduation celebrations, and memories being documented for families experiencing the same emotions I was—pride, excitement, gratitude, and maybe just a little bit of disbelief.

Watching My Own Senior

Of course, this season carried an extra layer of emotion for me.

Having my own senior meant that every session hit a little differently.

Every time I watched a parent straighten a tie, adjust a corsage, or wipe away a tear, I understood exactly what they were feeling.

I found myself looking through the lens while simultaneously reflecting on my own journey as a mother.

The late-night homework sessions.
The sports practices.
The school events.
The milestones.
The challenges.
The victories.

All of it somehow leads to this moment.

Graduation isn't just a celebration of the student. It's also a celebration of every parent, grandparent, teacher, mentor, and village member who helped them get here.

More Than Just Pretty Pictures

One thing I love about photographing milestone moments is that the images become so much more valuable over time.

Today, they're prom photos.

Tomorrow, they'll be reminders of friendships, dreams, laughter, and a season of life that can never be recreated.

Years from now, these images will tell stories.

Stories about who they were before college.
Stories about who they were before careers and families.
Stories about the people who helped shape them into the adults they are becoming.

As I photographed each senior stepping out in their gowns, tuxedos, dresses, and carefully chosen outfits, I couldn't help but think about how much courage it takes to stand on the edge of a new chapter.

The future is exciting, but it can also feel uncertain.

Yet every one of these young people showed up with confidence, style, personality, and a sense of possibility.

Thank You

To every family that trusted me to capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments, thank you.

Thank you for inviting me into your celebrations.
Thank you for allowing me to document your joy.
Thank you for letting me preserve memories that will be cherished for generations.

This season reminded me why photography matters.

Long after the flowers have faded, the music has stopped, and the graduation caps have been packed away, the photographs remain.

And this year, I was honored to help tell those stories.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. The future is waiting for you, and I can't wait to see where your journey takes you.
